In the next 10 years, Vietnam will need 5 million kilowatts of new installed capacity each year to meet the needs of economic and social development. Huang Zhonghai stressed that at present, the price of electricity in Vietnam is lower than the actual market price, and the government must provide subsidies. In this context, although private capital is encouraged to participate in power construction, the government still has to play a leading role.
