White card shipments are expected to increase by 30% in the second half of 2016

According to a recent survey conducted by the DigiTImes Institute, by the second half of 2016, the shortage of upstream components and price hikes are expected to be resolved. It is expected that orders will be shipped smoothly in the second half of the second quarter. It is reported that the shipment of white-label flats in the second half of this year is expected to increase by 30% compared with the first half of the year, with a target of 39 million units.

If compared with the same period in 2015, the white plate shipments in the second half of 2016 will be reduced by 6.3% year-on-year, showing the smallest decline since the peak of shipments in 2014, and the decline in shipments is coming to an end, plus industry. The increase in concentration can reduce the risk of price competition, and the white-board industry is expected to move into a healthier industrial pattern.

In terms of component shortages, the most out-of-stock panel is expected to be relieved at the end of the third quarter due to increased supply. After the second quarter of capacity adjustment, the price increase is expected to slow down, so the second half of 2016 Unfavorable factors on the supply side will be diluted.

On the demand side, mature markets in Europe and America have entered the peak season in the second half of 2016 due to seasonal factors, and demand for Wi-Fi tablets has increased in hypermarkets. In emerging markets, countries that are over-reliant on raw materials are still in an economic downturn, while Southeast Asia's economy is relatively stable; South America is affected by the short-term economic stimulus of the Olympics, and local consumption is expected to rebound slightly.

In terms of white-panel size, the proportion of 7-inch flat-panel shipments will rise to 54% from the previous quarter due to seasonal factors in the peak season of European and American stores. If compared with the fourth quarter of 2015, the dimensional change inherits the past trend. As the 7-inch gross profit is decreasing, the manufacturers tend to increase the 8-inch flat-panel shipment, which makes the proportion of 8-inch increase, while the 10-inch or higher is due to the 2-in-1 flat-panel market. Demand is booming and the proportion of shipments is also increasing.

For the white-label tablet application processor (AP), the proportion of MediaTek in the second half of 2016 may be reduced to about 45%. The main reason is that the telecommunications tablet market is eroded by the exhibition, and the demand for Wi-Fi tablets is increasing due to seasonal factors. Repressing the proportion of communication tablet shipments, resulting in MediaTek, which is dominated by communication tablet APs, its white-label tablet chip occupancy rate declined. Intel's elimination of SoFIA inventory in the second half of 2016 will increase its market share in white-plated tablets to more than 16%.

Reduced supply and demand gaps in components, Europe and the United States peak season 2H'16 white plate shipments will increase by 30% over the first half (3)

DIGITIMES Research estimates that the second half of 2016 will enter the peak season due to the European and American markets, and the shortage of components is expected to be soothing. Orders that cannot be shipped due to shortage of goods in the second quarter will be resolved in the third quarter, prompting white cards in the second half of the year. The total shipment of flat panels reached 39 million units.

It will increase by 30% from the first half of the year, accounting for about 56.4% of the annual shipments.

In the fourth quarter, benefiting from the peak season in Europe and the United States, it is expected to drive shipments to 20.5 million units, up 10.8%.

Better than the 4.7% negative growth for the same period in 2015.

The annual growth rate is expected to show a negative growth in the past four quarters and a slight increase of 1%.
