European sellers demand to cancel import tariffs on Chinese energy-saving lamps

European retailers demanded that the EU lift anti-dumping tariffs on Chinese energy-saving lamps. The European Retailers Federation (ERRT) believes that there is no reason to use tariffs to raise prices to prevent consumers from buying energy-saving lamps during the current soaring energy prices. Many European retail giants, such as Metro, IKEA, etc. are members of the federation. Since 2001, the EU has imposed a maximum anti-dumping duty of 66% on energy-saving lamps imported from China. According to reports, many environmental protection associations and some European countries have asked the EU to cancel this tariff because it runs counter to their goal of improving energy efficiency and tackling climate change.
