On August 12, 2008, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Cooper Lighting announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made Sure-Lite and AtLite emergency lights.
The recalled emergency lights can be installed in commercial buildings such as hotels and office buildings. The date code is marked on the light stand, and the products with the date code in the range of 240-2007~101-2008 are listed in this recall. The product model number is marked in the front cover of the emergency light. The emergency light was sold from July 2007 to June 2008 at authorized retail stores in Cooper, USA, and the unit price was 200-500 USD/ç›.
The number of recalled goods was about 9,000. The reason for the recall is that the emergency light has defects, and the lighting cannot be guaranteed when the power is turned off. In case of emergency, it is difficult to provide sufficient illumination for the evacuation of the building personnel. Currently, Cooper Lighting has not received any incident reports.
To this end, Cooper Lighting is contacting the relevant consumers to replace the recalled emergency lights for free.
