Since October, HTC has started the nomination of the Viveport Developer Awards and announced the award-winning work in four batches. The first eight nominees announced were Penrose Studio's "Allumette"; Futuretown's "Cloud Vision: VR Mini Golf"; Steel Wool Game's "Mars Odyssey"; Groove Jones's "Arcade ArTIst"; altspace VR "Altspace VR"; "Pearl" by Google Spotlight Stories; "Soundstage" by Hard Light Labs, and "The Body VR" by The Body VR. HTC is now announcing the next four nominees to be included in the awards.
These nominated games are: Northway Games' Fantasy Device, Immersive VR EducaTIon Ltd's Apollo 11 VR, SurrealVR's VR Real Social and InnerspaceVR's La Peri.
Fantasy Device is a puzzle game with a surreal background. Players need to create various devices to complete the task. The props are a cylindrical engine, a wooden beam, and a bunch of balloons. These items allow the player to open their brains and design countless amazing devices to complete the level.
"Apollo 11 VR" reproduces the 1969 landing around the moon. In the game, the player is able to revisit 1969, control and drive the command cabin before landing through the atmosphere, landing the lunar probe, detecting the lunar surface and deploying lunar experiments.
VR Real Social is a virtual society where players can create realistic avatars, meet new people, chat, interact, and venture together. The game only supported HTC Vive when it was launched in April this year, and later added support for the Oculus Rift.
"La Peri" was launched by InnerspaceVR in August. The game's background combines classical music and ballet by French classical composer Paul Duka, La Peri, a 15-minute VR experience with actor John Rhys Davies as narrator, John starred Steven Spielberg The director of "Indiana Jones" and Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings." With Vive's hand controller, players can interact directly with characters and animals in the game.
