HKU research and development LED street lights will be used to improve energy efficiency in mainland cities to 94%

A few days ago, Xu Shuyuan, a professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, has successfully completed the initial structure of a new LED with improved light and heat functions. The energy efficiency can be increased from 88% to 94%. Bringing significant benefits to Hong Kong and its neighboring regions.

At present, there are more than one thousand LED product manufacturers in Central South China. The new LEDs have been put into production and the signing agreement has been completed. It will be used in the street lights of mainland cities next year. Xu Shuyuan takes Hong Kong's 150,000 street lights as an example. If 1% fails, the repair and replacement of 1500 street lights will bring huge losses and heavy work. The advantage of the new LED in lighting technology is that it can achieve a life of at least 10 years and the cost is similar to the original technology.

Professor Xu Shuyuan's research includes a LED system theory for different types of LED modules, “from module to system”, which can be used to develop high-efficiency, high-efficiency, long-life and recyclable LED lighting systems to achieve “ Energy saving, long product life and recyclability."
