TI Expands IoT Cloud Ecosystem and Simplifies Code Development with Open Source Energia Support

On December 16, 2014, Beijing Instruments Texas Instruments (TI) has been expanding its third-party ecosystem of Internet of Things (IoT) cloud service providers. The ecosystem was launched in April 2014 and has added 10 new members. The TI IoT cloud ecosystem has reached 18 companies and is designed to support multiple cloud options. In addition, ecosystem members can provide solutions to help customers quickly connect their TI-based IoT solutions to the cloud. New members added this time include Intamac/Kynesim, Keen IO/Technical Machine, Micrium, Octoblu, PTC, PubNub, Temboo and Weaved.

Each ecosystem member demonstrates its cloud service offerings based on one or more TI wireless connectivity, microcontroller (MCU) and processor solutions for multiple IoT applications in industrial, home automation, health and fitness, automotive, and more . To learn more about cloud ecosystem members and their products, visit TI's IoT Cloud Ecosystem page.

To make code development easier, some ecosystem members also offer Energia support. Energia is an open source, cab-based, community-driven, stand-alone development environment (IDE) and framework for rapid firmware development across multiple TI MCU architectures, including MSP430TM, TM4C, and SimpleLinkTM wireless MCUs. With the easy-to-use application programming interface (API) and multiple libraries, you can interact with the cloud with less code. Energia enables developers to focus on creating differentiated applications while reducing the time it takes to implement Internet protocols or low-level drives. With pre-packaged built-in support for major cloud partners such as IBM's IoT Foundation, Temboo, and PubNub, Energia eliminates the need to manually download and import libraries.

“Time value and simplification are key to success in the IoT space. Our IBM IoT Foundation covers Energia support, enabling the Energia community to quickly gain access from devices to cloud services, allowing faster implementation. Business benefits," said Michael Curry, vice president of IBM WebSphere Foundation.

In addition, TI's Code Composer Studio v6 (CCS) can now import Energia projects and sketches. This provides a very unique migration path from rapid prototyping to development and final productization. By importing into CCS, developers have access to the debugging features and other features of the full-featured IDE. Introduction to the new members of the TI IoT Cloud Ecosystem

Keen IO's CEO (CEO) Kyle Wild said: "Keen IO has been able to easily apply our accurate analysis from Tessel's sensor modules to real data streams through integration and comprehensive testing based on Technical Machine Tessel. Produce beautiful dashboards in real time. Keen IO is responsible for all the data and can easily scale to hundreds of thousands or even hundreds of millions of devices. Here are the specific steps on how to use Keen IO and Tessel. Developing end-to-end analytics solutions for IoT applications, both Keen IO and Technical Machine have joined TI's IoT ecosystem."

Paul Fellows, CEO of Kynesim, said: "We have been working closely with Texas Instruments for many years and are now happy to work with Intamac to combine Intamac's ENSO cloud platform with TI's wireless and RF technologies. Customers provide off-the-shelf, customized IoT systems. We decided to integrate TI's technology when designing these systems because we know that TI can provide quality reliability and long life for the resulting design."

Jean Labrosse, president and CEO of Micrium, said: "IoT is connected to the connection, connecting deep embedded devices to the cloud with minimal space and maximum reliability requires a true embedded software solution. This is what Micrium SpectrumTM is good at. The industry's pre-integrated end-to-end portfolio of embedded software, protocol stacks, and cloud services designed to facilitate IoT development from device to cloud. Our proven solutions are ideal for supporting TI MCUs, processors and connectivity solutions provide the benefits of speeding time-to-market and optimizing device performance."

Octiru CEO Geir Ramleth said: “TI offers many opportunities to bring innovative and innovative devices to market. But creating connections, designs, processes and relying on in-depth analysis to manage secure traffic is very complicated. We are very excited to TI's automated tasks provide a platform to help them fully capitalize on IoT opportunities and open the door to exciting new services in the connected world."

Chris Kuntz, vice president of strategic planning and IoT marketing at PTC's Thingworx, said: "Companies with intelligent interconnect solutions must be able to extract and become familiar with the generated data to better understand customer and product behavior. We are honored to work with Texas Instruments. (TI) teamed up to accelerate the pace of delivering new IoT solutions to the global marketplace."

Todd Greene, founder and CEO of PubNub, said: "Accelerating the IoT launch process requires a mature and scalable technology stack. Developed with TI's rapid prototyping platform, Energia and PubNub's Data Stream Network. People can now quickly build and scale in real-time IoT applications that can be used across networks."

Temboo's business development manager Vaughn Shinall said: "Temboo can generate Energia code through a wizard-like web interface that enables TI's silicon chips to interact with more than 100 websites, APIs, databases and service facilities. Integration, developers can easily trigger SMS with Twilio, log data to Google spreadsheets, or publish Weibo via embedded hardware. Energia + Temboo integration is a powerful way to quickly connect hardware to the Internet of Things."

We adopt the advanced technology imported from Europe, patented technology, specialized software to optimize the design for Dry Type Transformer. The core is made of cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheet which cut in step-lap by GEORG Germany TBA core cutting lines and laminated by the method of fifth-order step-by-step stacking technology, enabling the no-load performance of the core to improve greatly. The epoxy resin from American HUNTSMAN is adopted for the windings which casted in the vacuum resin casting machine imported from HEDRICH, Germany. The winding material ensures good permeability, no bubbles occur, which leads to minimum partial discharge. The HV and LV winding mate with each other tightly, which ensures solid strength of structure and capability to withstand short circuit and vibration. Under normal service condition, the service life of dry type transformer is 30 years. No crack will form on the surface of transformer winding due to temperature variation as long as the transformer runs under normal service condition.
