When it comes to projectors, many people may think of traditional projectors from established manufacturers. For years, I had a fixed perception about traditional projectors, viewing them as essential office tools. However, in recent years, with the market evolving, influenced by smart TVs, more and more smart projector brands have emerged. As this wave of smart projectors continues to grow, the projector industry is gradually entering the homes of ordinary consumers. Smart projectors are now well-known, with prices no longer as high as before. A product that costs just over a thousand dollars offers consistent quality.
There are numerous brands of home-use smart projectors on the market, and I won't list them all here. Today, I'd like to introduce a new heavyweight product that has recently caught my attention — the Storm AI No Screen TV Max 6. This is the latest product launched by Storm Science and Technology after the Stormwind TV. Having previously developed Storm Video software and later moved into hardware with Storm TV, Storm has accumulated rich experience in both software and hardware. I believe this will definitely deliver a top-notch user experience.
â–‹ Appearance and Detail Display:
â–² The entire outer package is a black cardboard box, with "1080P" clearly visible, supporting Dolby sound, surround sound, and other features. The product design was crafted by a Red Dot Gold Award-winning team. The shape of the Storm Max 6 is outlined simply on the outer box, giving a very clean and calm atmosphere.
â–² After opening the outer packaging, the Storm AI projector is protected by a layer of soft plastic packaging. The product is embedded in a fixed bottom groove, offering multiple layers of protection for safety and security.
â–² My first impression of the AI Max 6 was a fresh and bright visual feel. The projector has a square shape, with a large black circle on the front and a lens cover. There's a BAOFENG DESIGN logo on the lower right corner. The body is white with black accessories, giving a dignified appearance. The entire body, except for the top and bottom, uses a long horizontal grid design, with rounded corners for smooth transitions and a pleasant touch, leaving no fingerprints.
â–² An opening is made at the grid for air intake, which facilitates rapid heat dissipation.
â–² The lens is equipped with a one-touch lens cap, effectively preventing dust accumulation after daily use. The lens cap has a small handle for easy switching.
â–² We found it very convenient to use the lens cover for everyday operations. After power-on, we only need to gently open the lens cover to start the machine. The machine will automatically turn on, and when you close the lens cover, it will automatically enter standby mode. After waiting for the fan to stop running, you can power off. However, I recommend using the lens cover operation instead of the remote control, as leaving the lens cover open for too long can cause dust accumulation. I hope future updates will include an automatic closure feature via the remote control.
â–² Thanks to the use of 1100 ANSI lumens of high brightness, F1.8 large aperture, all-Swiss imported filter, 7-layer optical glass lens, and cinema-grade display technology, the Storm Max 6 delivers excellent projection performance. It can be used during the day or night. During testing, even under non-direct sunlight conditions, the image was clear without distortion, with full color saturation and no virtual details.
â–² The side view camera is almost identical to the body, with no obvious protrusion.
â–² The left and right sides of the projector also have inlet openings.
â–² I believe users familiar with Storm Media would recognize this logo. The classic Storm Logo is engraved on the top of the product. When used for the first time, I thought this might be a power button, but after trying, I realized it was actually a boot status light.
â–² The back of the product includes common interfaces, from left to right: power interface, infrared receiver window, 3.5mm audio output, HDMI 2.0 interface, USB 3.0 interface, USB 2.0 interface, and network interface.
▲ The Storm 6 is a new product. From the interface, it basically meets public needs. Especially when reading large-capacity 4K sources, the USB 3.0 interface provides faster read speeds. A row of ventilation vents is set up, and after a few hours of use, the body doesn’t feel hot, just slightly warm. The Max 6 does a great job with heat dissipation.
▲ The bottom of the Storm Max 6 contains production information, and there is also a speaker port at the bottom. The chip uses a Texas Instruments amplifier to process the signal. Combined with Storm’s R&D sealing large box body inverting tube speaker design, the sound is emitted from the bottom, making the Max 6 perform well in both low and high frequencies, delivering powerful impact. In my experience, it is comparable to high-end portable Bluetooth speakers in terms of sound quality.
â–² To facilitate fixed installation and use, a non-slip mat holder is designed at the bottom of the Storm Max 6. If placed on a desktop, the height of the bottom gasket can be adjusted according to actual needs, or a transfer tray can be used. However, since the Max 6 is newly released, the official channel in Storm currently lacks matching adapters. Users can choose based on their own size, and I look forward to a richer product line and more perfect accessory channels in the future, providing more choices for users.
â–² After adjusting the height in this way, it is still necessary to adjust the slightly uneven table top or screen angle. For larger adjustments, it is recommended to use an optional mounting bracket and adapter plate.
â–² The parts of Storm Max 6 are underneath the packing box. There are also three independent small packages, which are the charging head, charging cable, and remote control.
â–² In order to be easy to carry and install, the charging head and transformer are assembled through the socket, along with a warranty card, manual, and Bluetooth voice remote control.
â–² The power adapter uses three grounding connectors and the output is 19V~5.26A.
â–² The charging port matched with the projection is a round socket, which can be inserted during use.
â–² The standard Bluetooth remote control is similar to those found on smart TVs and TV boxes. The top red button is the on/standby button, the bottom circle is the up, down, left, and right arrow keys and the confirmation button, followed by the home, back, menu buttons, then volume plus and minus keys, voice button (long press) / shortcut menu button (short press), and focus keys. The remote control and projector use a minimalist white design, suitable for use with the Max 6.
â–² Most remote controls use either button batteries or alkaline batteries. The Storm Max 6 uses the commonly used 7 batteries, and the package also includes two 7 batteries.
▲ The remote control feels good, with comfortable buttons, quick response, and overall good performance. Looking forward to the future, Stormwind Mall could enrich the product line and launch matching remote control rubber sleeves for users to choose from. Personally, I’ve used many similar remotes and worry that the writing may fade over time.
â–‹ Actual Operation Display:
â–² To show how Storm projection AI performs without a specific screen, all actual photos were taken at home. After turning on the power, the lens cover is opened, and the machine automatically turns on.
â–² After booting, the top Storm logo lights up synchronously. Once the machine is fully turned on, the logo automatically turns off.
â–² The boot screen has a blue background with a Storm logo pattern in the middle.
â–² For users who have never used smart projectors or related products, the Storm 6 is designed to guide users through the initial boot process. Through the boot guide, users can pair the remote control, focus the screen, connect to Wi-Fi, register a Storm account, and follow the Storm AI user instructions. While these functions can also be achieved through settings later, the initial boot process is very convenient.
â–² Registering a Storm account and logging in allows access to a wide range of video resources, including VIP videos. You can accumulate gold coins through the Big Wind Ear function and redeem more VIP services.
â–² Gold coins can also be obtained through recharge channels. Currently, 100 gold coins = 1 yuan. I look forward to Storm considering providing VIP services for Storm 6 users, not only relying on its own massive resources but also joining video resources from iQiyi and Aofei Entertainment, offering over 600,000 content options. A Storm account is common, and content is updated daily, making it very convenient to choose recharge if needed.

The daily recommendations and updates are very rich, so you don’t have to worry about content. â–² The bottom of the UI page displays various movies and related applications, with reasonable classification, including video library, VIP resource center, magical kingdom, fan channel, music, sports events, Storm shopping, and application management.
▲ The movie library’s secondary menu is further categorized into genres, top charts, dramas, and children’s entertainment. Some movies and TV series that are currently being filmed have more VIP content, so I personally suggest opening some VIP content if you like it.
