The state has introduced two major subsidy policies to promote the 12th Five-Year Semiconductor Lighting Plan

Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the State Council respectively announced the "12th Five-Year Special Plan for the Development of Semiconductor Lighting Technology" and the "12th Five-Year Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industry Development Plan", and proposed the goals that the semiconductor lighting industry hopes to achieve before 2015, including LED general lighting market share. In order to achieve the goal of semiconductor lighting in the 12th Five-Year Plan, the government proposed two subsidy policies in 2012. The first is the 2012 Financial Subsidy Promotion Project for Semiconductor Lighting Products. This subsidy is to select several companies through bidding. For its LED lighting products, the government provides these corporate subsidies so that they can reduce the amount of the subsidy by the amount of the subsidy, and sell the LED lighting products to hospitals, schools, commercial buildings, villages, etc. Purchase subsidies for these units of LED lighting.

Another subsidy policy proposed by the government is the “energy-saving product subsidy policy”. The State Council has budgeted RMB 36.3 billion to subsidize energy-saving appliances, energy-saving vehicles, high-efficiency motors, energy-saving lamps and LED lamps. Among them, LEDTV and LED lights in energy-saving home appliances are related to the LED industry. Although the amount and details of the relevant subsidies for LED lights have not yet been set, the products that have been certified to meet the standards in LEDTV can receive up to RMB 400.

The government believes that these two subsidies can not only promote energy conservation and carbon reduction, enhance the concept of energy conservation of manufacturers, but also promote the development of the LED industry. Manufacturers also expect to expand their careers and increase their visibility by obtaining government subsidies. Therefore, energy-saving subsidies can bring benefits to LED manufacturers, governments and consumers, creating a win-win situation.
