Viveport subscription service adds 75 VR content, including multiple games

HTC released the Viveport subscription service in April this year: 7 US dollars per month, users can choose 5 from a batch of VR applications, and unlimited use. The company announced today that it will add 75 new applications for subscription content, including many well-known games. The subscription model has been very popular in movies, television, music and other fields, and the game is an exception. Given that most of the current VR content is relatively short, the subscription model may be able to stimulate users to spend more. HTC said that after adding 75 new applications, Viveport’s subscription content has increased to 150. We can see that there are a lot of unknown independent games in the current content, and the newly added games have many well-known works, making subscription services more attractive. Some new gaming experiences include: ROM: Extraction, Knockout League, Overkill, Cosmic Trip, Sairento VR. HTC also added new games for Asian users that could only be experienced by Western users. Viveport also adjusted the sharing agreement with publishers, dividing the original 60% of developers by 70%, which is equal to the cost of Viveport's traditional digital downloads. Steiber said that with the launch of the new agreement, $5 of the $7 monthly fee users pay will come to developers. In other words, developers can earn about $1 a month from each subscribed user.
