Practical tutorial: HTC Vive locator update operation

When we use the HTC Vive, we may see from time to time that there is an exclamation mark in the lower right corner of the handle and the icon of the locator on the SteamVR interface. This reminds you that you need to update the firmware. This article tells you how to update the HTC Vive locator.

When we find the exclamation mark in the lower right corner of the StemVR interface icon, the mouse is placed on the icon for a few seconds, then the firmware is displayed as an outdated reminder. Click the Update Available button in the lower left corner to start the update process.

When the locator updates, you need to close all VR applications. Click the “Yes” option in the figure below and the update program will automatically shut you down, and SteamVR will enter the paused state.

Then only need to wait a little, there is a prompt click to continue to start the update.

Since there are two locators and the update program will only update the firmware of one locator at a time, after the update is successful, we also need to click on the "update more firmware" option, find the locators available for update and click, repeat the above operation once , you can complete the update.

After the update is completed, SteamVR will restart automatically.
