According to the latest research, 1 out of 10 British women like to experience sex in VR. Nearly half (40%) believe that technological advancement will make future sex more interesting.
Natural Cycles, a European startup that provides fertility monitoring and tracking services, has surveyed 2,618 female VR users in the UK and they want to make VR technology sex products mainstream.
15% of respondents (all respondents aged 17 - 50) said they are currently using apps to help achieve sexual gratification, while 20% of women said they prefer to use social media to vent their sex. It seems that the British will open their hearts when wearing VR helmets exposed to the 3D digital environment.
Dr. Elina, CTO of Natural Cycles and co-founder, said: "Future technologies such as advanced wearables, virtual reality, smart toys and labor are gradually becoming part of our daily lives and redefining the way we enjoy sex. â€
More than half (63%) of respondents indicated that they are already using or want to use sex toys. Future sex products look promising – many companies have begun offering sex technology products to women.
Developers of the Lioness Vibrator have advertised that it can help women better understand their sexual desires, even using embedded sensors to transfer data to smartphones and help them figure out how much time they should spend on the foreplay. The project reached its fundraising goal in less than four days since Indiegogo crowdfunding began.
Lioness co-founder Liz Klinger said: "I grew up in a conservative family. We never talked about sex. I want to create a vibrator that will make women know more about their bodies."
Other experts have further pointed out that through VR women can sex with robots that play male roles.
