Facebook tears! Oculus sued to steal patents from Baidu VR

According to foreign media reports, Oculus is a key for Facebook to open the future. But now, Facebook is not happy how to get it, because Oculus defendant steals patents, while Facebook CEO Mark Zucker is also required to testify in court.

Oculus sued for stealing patents

Facebook was accused of acquiring Oculus in 2014 and knew that the latter’s technology was stolen from ZeniMax Media. ZeniMax, an interactive software and game developer based in Rockville, Maryland, tried to prove to the court that the company played an important role in the development of virtual reality software and hardware and accused one of Oculus of jumping into a job. Star employees stole the company’s intellectual property.

Both Facebook and Oculus executives denied this accusation and accused ZeniMax of misinterpreting history. Currently Oculus Rift, a Facebook-owned Oculus virtual reality device, is on the market for a price of $599.

According to reports, Facebook announced in 2014 that it spent US$2 billion to acquire Oculus VR, an immersive virtual reality technology company. Since then, Facebook has become a pioneer in the field of VR with Oculus. Oculus has offices in six cities in the United States, Hong Kong and Seoul. And Facebook recently established a team of virtual reality experts in London.

In addition, Facebook will continue to increase its VR technology. Mark Zuckerberg said in an interview with the media that AR's current development is far behind VR and will increase its research on AR in the future. He also stated that its Oculus can launch the AR version of the Rift within 5 to 10 years.
