Engineers use LED optical technology to make Mercedes-Benz invisible

The invisibility cloak of Harry Potter and the Hobbit Dwarf Frodo-Bagins makes everyone envious.

However, invisibility is not an unrealizable dream. Now, scientists can make the entire Mercedes-Benz F-Cell "invisible" by means of optical camouflage technology. Mercedes-Benz engineers create an illusion that the car disappears from the invisible engineer and drives the car. One side is covered with a layer of LED "blanket", and a digital SLR camera is mounted on the other side. The camera captures the image of the passenger's side of the car. The image is displayed on the driver's side in real time, allowing the F-Cell to be seen through. To the scene behind the car, and then achieve the invisible effect, the engineer driving F-Cell on the highway of Hamburg and the bridge of Bavaria, the appearance of this invisible Mercedes-Benz surprised the passers-by, can not believe their eyes!
The optical camouflage technology was originally developed by scientists at the University of Tokyo in Japan, using the same scientific principles as the blue screen used by weathercasters and Hollywood filmmakers.
Mercedes-Benz engineers install LED "blanket" for cars

According to foreign media reports, Harry Potter and the hobbit dwarf Frodo Baggins's invisibility cloak made everyone envious. Who wouldn't want to have an invisible addiction? Now, scientists have been able to make the entire car "invisible." With optical camouflage technology, Mercedes-Benz engineers created an illusion that the latest zero-emission F-Cell Mercedes-Benz disappeared into the invisible.
The Mercedes-Benz engineer placed the driver's side of the F-Cell with a layer of LED "blanket" while installing a digital SLR camera on the other side. The camera captures the image of the occupant's side, and the image is presented on the driver's side in real time, allowing the F-Cell to be seen through and seeing the scene behind the car to achieve an invisible effect. Originally developed by scientists at the University of Tokyo in Japan, the technology is based on the same scientific principles used by weathercasters and Hollywood filmmakers.
In Mercedes-Benz's promo, the engineer drove F-Cell on the highway in Hamburg and the bridge in Bavaria. The invisible Mercedes-Benz appeared to surprise the passers-by and couldn't believe his eyes. On YouTube, this video has sparked heated discussions among netizens. Some people worry that invisible Mercedes-Benz will inevitably have a serious collision, and others are obsessed with it, thinking that they can park anywhere without worrying about being issued a ticket.
Mercedes-Benz said it will mass produce hydrogen-powered vehicles, but the high manufacturing costs still affect the popularity of such vehicles.

According to media reports, although engineers have found ways to reduce costs, the cost of hydrogen-powered vehicles is still very high, making most consumers in Europe and the United States unable to afford.

The Mercedes-Benz F-Cell uses an electric motor that produces 134 horsepower and travels 250 miles (402 km). According to analysts, commercial hydrogen-powered cars will not become a reality by 2015. In the United States, for example, the main challenge in developing hydrogen-powered vehicles is the cost of building a hydrogen refueling station.
