The new generation of Jeep guides will be officially unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 18, with a pre-sale price between 170,000 and 220,000 yuan.

SUVs have clearly become the mainstream in the automotive world, and they’re particularly popular in China. People are drawn to SUVs not just because they handle rough roads better, but also due to the elevated perspective they offer while driving. Many also appreciate the added flexibility in storage space that these vehicles provide. Generally speaking, compact SUVs often lack sufficient room, while larger ones can be quite pricey. Medium-sized SUVs strike the best balance between cost and space, making them appealing to those within a budget of around $200,000—commonly considered a reasonable price range for合资brand SUVs. A significant portion of SUV buyers primarily use their vehicles for city driving, where performance isn’t overly critical. However, there’s still a segment of users who occasionally venture onto lighter off-road terrains alongside their everyday needs. When it comes to SUV expertise, Jeep stands out as a true leader. The new generation of Jeep guides will make their official debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 18, with a pre-sale price ranging from $170,000 to $220,000. As the pioneer of the modern SUV trend, Jeep has always held a special place in many hearts. Owning a Jeep is more than just about its rugged look or reliability—it's about its unmatched functionality and versatility. On November 15, the new domestic guides were officially launched at the Guangzhou Fick factory, positioned somewhere between the FreeLight and FreeMan. This new model features a fresh design, adopting the iconic seven-slot grille that characterizes the Jeep family’s flagship Grand Cherokee. Overall, it resembles a downsized version of the Grand Cherokee. The new car boasts a drag coefficient of only 0.35, significantly reducing wind noise and fuel consumption. On November 18, the new generation of Jeep guides was officially unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The new model carries forward the design DNA of the Jeep family’s flagship, the Grand Cherokee, with its classic one-piece seven-slot grille and front face, setting it apart from both the FreeMan and FreeLight. Visually, the new guide draws inspiration from the Grand Cherokee. The interior styling of the new domestic guides mirrors that of the FreeLight. The new model offers a 5-seat configuration, with seats upholstered in McKinley South American top-layer cowhide, featuring Jeep-exclusive leather grain. It also includes an automatic engine start-stop system, electronic parking brake, Alpine audio, and more. After redesign, the interior now aligns more closely with contemporary aesthetic preferences. The central console contains fewer buttons, with most functionalities integrated into the multimedia system. The internal seating space matches expectations, offering adequate room for daily use. Despite having a body length of only 4448mm—about 15cm shorter than the Forester—the wheelbase is just 5mm shorter, ensuring ample cabin space while enhancing approach and departure angles. The new generation of guides measures 4415*1819*1625mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2636mm. Powered by a 2.0-liter/2.4-liter D-VVT aluminum engine paired with a new six-speed PowerTech automatic transmission and a multi-link rear suspension, it also features a 2.4L naturally aspirated engine coupled with a 9AT ZF gearbox. Additionally, the guide is equipped with Jeep’s exclusive Active Drive Low intelligent four-wheel-drive system, providing low-speed torque amplification—a feature unmatched by competitors in its class. The current import guide models range from $221,900 to $280,900, but the domestic models will undoubtedly be more affordable. Based on the positioning of the guide and the pricing of the domestic FreeLight and FreeMan, it’s highly probable that the entry-level model of the domestic guide will drop below $180,000, with a potential price range between $170,000 and $220,000.
