Next Generation Bulldozer APU Trinity Integrated Graphics Will Use VLIW4 Architecture

At the just-convened AMD Fusion Developer Summit, Rick Bergman, AMD's senior vice president and general manager of the product group, publicly demonstrated a laptop based on the next-generation Trinity APU, in which Trinity APU has more powerful CPU computing power and GPU performance. In particular, the CPU part uses a powerful Bulldozer architecture and claims that Trinity's parallel computing power is 50% higher than that of Llano. What about the GPU part?

More interestingly, during an interview during the AMD Fusion Developer Summit, an engineer revealed some details of Trinity APU and revealed that the GPU segment will be based on the new VLIW4 architecture rather than the VLIW5 architecture adopted by the Llano APU.

This means that the Trinity APU will be built with the Radeon HD 6900 series Cayman core instead of continuing with the Radeon HD 5000's "jacket."

Obviously, AMD's next-generation Trinity APU will have a higher CPU computing power while the GPU's performance will increase again. If all goes well, when the Trinity APU is officially released in 2012, will Intel's next-generation 22nm Ivy Bridge integrated graphics core have an odds?
