In recent years, the electric vehicle (EV) market has experienced a surge in interest and investment. As global demand for sustainable transportation grows, major automotive players are accelerating their efforts to develop eco-friendly technologies. Among them, Japanese automakers Toyota and Mazda, along with Denso—a leading automotive parts supplier—have taken a significant step by forming a joint venture to focus on electric vehicle innovation.
On the 28th, the three companies announced they have signed an agreement to establish a new company dedicated to researching and developing core electric vehicle technologies. The venture will be based in Nagoya, near Toyota’s headquarters, and will involve full-time engineers from all three organizations. Each company will contribute capital in the ratio of 90%, 5%, and 5%, respectively, totaling 10 million yen.
This collaboration is part of a broader trend as governments around the world impose stricter emissions regulations, with some regions mandating a minimum percentage of electric vehicles in new car sales. While Toyota has historically focused on hybrid and fuel cell technologies, it has recently shifted its strategy to include more electric vehicles. In 2016, the company announced plans to build a mass production system for EVs by 2020, and in August of this year, Toyota and Mazda entered a capital partnership to speed up their joint EV development.
By pooling resources, the three companies can reduce the financial and operational burden of independent R&D while enhancing their competitive edge in the rapidly evolving EV market. This move not only strengthens their individual positions but also supports the global transition toward greener transportation solutions.
HA Series
HA series hood is suitable to small heavy duty connectors, it is widely used in machinery, wind energy, rail transportation, power systems, photovoltaic industry, communications industry, engineering equipment and other fields. Heavy Duty Connector is designed for modular production pre-wiring and satisfying severe environmental conditions, applied in rail transit, industrial automation and equipment manufacturing fields. Compared with traditional wiring methods, use of heavy duty connector can reduce site wiring operation after equipment or vehicle leaves the workshop, enhance production efficiency and reduce quality risk of site wiring.
