In order to further optimize the overall arrangement of the group's video cameras, and to solve the situation of the lack of video cameras in the Shanghai Media News Group (SMG) TV News Center, in February 2007, the SMG Technology Operations Center "News Video Camera Update" project was officially established The goal is to choose the most suitable camcorder and video recorder so that the new generation of storage media can truly reflect its value, make the TV news production process better, faster and more cost-effective, and produce and broadcast TV news for the SMG TV News Center. Bring new changes.
After the establishment of the project team, the project schedule was first formulated, as shown in Figure 1.

According to the work plan of the project, we conducted nearly harsh test and trial of the equipment of the selected manufacturers for half a year. After the final business negotiations, the XDCAM professional CD and its products finally stood out from many manufacturers and became the SMG TV News Center. Supplier of camcorder products. One XDCAM professional CD
The news center selected the PFD23 single-sided disc. The disc is packaged in a special disc case. The non-contact recording method is used to make the disc safer and more durable. All audiovisual content is stored in professional discs in the form of files The professional CD manages these contents in the form of MXF files, which makes the data processing more flexible in the IT environment. The data transmission rate of the professional CD is 72Mb / s in the case of a single optical head and 144Mb / s; In addition, through the use of 405 nanometer blue-violet light technology and a 0.85 relative aperture lens, professional discs can achieve a storage capacity of 23.3GB.
Emerging storage media and methods have incomparable advantages over magnetic tapes. After comparing and analyzing the professional optical discs in terms of safety, speed, and capacity, they have met the production and broadcasting requirements of existing news centers.
Two XDCAM professional CD product testing and trial
We divide the test and trial of the product into three parts. The first part is the test and trial of the XDCAM professional disc camera, the second part is the test and trial of the XDCAM professional disc recorder and related products, and the third part is the news center process Definition and testing.
1. Test and trial of XDCAM professional CD camera
At the beginning of the project test and trial, SONY provided the SMG with a PDW-530P professional CD camcorder.
The testing and trial of the camera are mainly divided into three parts: the first is the camera function test, the second is the camera technical index test, and the third is the subjective evaluation and trial.

(2) Camera technical index test

(3) Subjective evaluation test and trial of camera
It mainly shoots standard color cards and skin tone cards-to investigate the quality of the pictures taken, and it is also used for daily shooting by the news center camera to obtain the user's first-hand data for comprehensive evaluation.
(4) Analysis of camera test and trial results
The professional compact disc camcorder is sturdy and stable, which can meet the requirements of actual shooting. At the same time, the objective index and subjective evaluation angle of the professional compact disc camcorder continue the style of SONY's previous digital camcorder, which can fully meet the news center's editing Claim.
The disc automatically searches for blank areas when recording material, reducing the complexity of the operation. The camera is always ready for the next shot; convenient single-disc editing function, interval shooting function, pre-shooting function and shortcut keys that can be assigned functions Waiting for the program to provide greater convenience. In the later stage of the project, SONY brought the newly launched PDW-539P professional disc camera for testing and trial in the news center. Finally, the SMG News Center purchased the PDW-539P professional disc camcorder.
